Shardul Thakur, who went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, was seen training with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Pictures on social media showed him bowling in an LSG training kit during an open nets session, sparking rumors that he could join the team for the upcoming season.
LSG pacer Mayank Yadav was recently ruled out for the first few games of the season due to injury. The 25-year-old Delhi bowler, who made his India debut last year, is currently at the National Cricket Academy for rehab and will need clearance before rejoining the team.
Last season, Shardul played for Chennai Super Kings, appearing in nine matches and taking five wickets at an average of 61.80. Over his IPL career, he has also represented Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiants, and Punjab Kings, picking up 94 wickets in total.
