Gujarat Titans IPL 2025 Preview: Squad, Stats & Predicted XI

Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2025 Strategy Breakdown

1. PowerPlay Struggles

GT had the slowest PowerPlay run rate (7.72) in IPL 2024, while teams like SRH (11.17) and KKR (11.07) scored much faster. Their openers, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha, couldn’t provide explosive starts, managing a combined strike rate of just 128.06 in the first six overs.

2. Middle-Order Problems

GT’s middle-order (batters No. 4-7) struggled, averaging just 22.18 runs per wicket – the worst in IPL 2024. Without Hardik Pandya, the team lacked a strong finisher. David Miller and Vijay Shankar didn’t perform well, and GT's middle-order scored at just 8.92 runs per over, showing a clear weakness compared to other teams.

3. Rashid Khan’s Poor Form

Rashid Khan had a tough season, recording his worst-ever IPL economy rate (8.40) and taking just 10 wickets in 12 matches. GT also had one of the worst bowling records in the middle overs, making their campaign even harder.

# Final Thoughts

GT needs to fix their PowerPlay scoring, strengthen their middle order, and hope Rashid Khan regains form. With new signings like Jos Buttler and Mohammed Siraj, they have a solid squad, but improvements are necessary to compete for the title in IPL 2025.
