Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid was absent from their pre-season training camp for IPL 2025 because of an injury. The team confirmed that Dravid hurt his leg while playing cricket in Bengaluru but is recovering well. In a photo shared on social media, Dravid was seen with a cast on his left leg. The team said he will join them soon in Jaipur. Dravid became the head coach of Rajasthan Royals before the IPL 2025 auction, after leading India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson praised Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest player ever to be signed in the IPL at just 13 years old. Samson highlighted Suryavanshi's ability to hit sixes and said the young batter looks ready to "land a few punches."
During last year's IPL mega-auction, Suryavanshi surprised everyone when he was bought by RR for Rs 1.1 crore. Born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar, Vaibhav is the youngest player in the league. He made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024 at just 12 years and 284 days old. Last year, he also played for India U19 in a match against Australia in Chennai, where he scored a century off 58 balls.
He was also the seventh-highest run-scorer in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2024-25, with 176 runs in 5 matches, including a top score of 76*.
Speaking to JioHotstar for the 'SuperStar' program, Samson mentioned that young players today are full of confidence and know the style of cricket that India needs to play.
