A new book about Chennai Super Kings (CSK) called Leo—The Untold Story, written by senior advocate and former TNCA vice president P.S. Raman, was launched on Sunday. The event was attended by former CSK captain M.S. Dhoni and many other well-known personalities.
Former India cricketer C.D. Gopinath, who was part of India’s first Test-winning team, officially unveiled the book. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander received the first copy. Meanwhile, former India captain K. Srikkanth honored R. Ashwin, who recently retired from international cricket.
During the event, Raman shared how he came up with the idea for the book and read a passage from it.
Gopinath emphasized the importance of keeping cricket a respectful and fair game. He praised Dhoni for his calm and composed behavior on the field.
"My favorite IPL team is CSK, mainly because of MSD—not just for his cricketing skills but for how he conducts himself. He doesn’t show off or behave aggressively on the field. I don’t like it when players act disrespectfully. Cricket should be played the right way, and I hope young players learn from him," said Gopinath.
Ashwin, who is returning to CSK after ten years, spoke about how the team has had a big impact on his career. He shared a special moment about Dhoni, saying, "Before my 100th Test match in Dharamshala, I called M.S. to give me the memento, but he couldn’t make it. However, he surprised me with something even better—bringing me back to CSK. So, thank you, MS. I’m happy to be here."
