The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume from Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Monday, with the final scheduled to take place on June 3.

“After extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season,” a statement read.

The first match will be played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium at 7:30pm IST.

The tournament was officially put on hold on Friday, after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Dharamsala was abandoned following heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan the previous day. The same match will be replayed in Jaipur on May 24 at 7:30pm IST. While PBKS, who had gotten off to a blitzkrieg start, had asked for continuation of the match, the IPL authorities deemed fit for the full match to be replayed, considering a change in venue.
