IPL 2025: Mitchell Marsh cleared to play for LSG as pure batter - reports

Marsh is set to travel early next week, even though he missed the recently finished Champions Trophy because of a back injury. The 33-year-old all-rounder was unable to join Australia’s ODI tour of Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy because of "lower back pain and problems.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Marsh visited a back specialist in early February and rested to fix the issue. Recently, he has started batting again and has been cleared to play for LSG in the IPL, but only as a batter.

In last year’s mega auction in Jeddah, LSG bought him for ₹3.3 crore. Marsh is expected to join the LSG team on March 18, where he will reunite with his former head coach, Justin Langer, who is starting his second season with the team.

Marsh has not played competitive cricket since January 7. His last match was in the Big Bash League for the Perth Scorchers, but he was rested for the last two games of the tournament.

Before the BBL, his last game in the white-ball format was during Australia's tour of the UK in September.
